My inauguaral post speechwriter is on strike
Posted by austin under Blogging
So the blog is ready. My new friend Patrick has done a great job of helping me setup all my plug-ins and pretty up my pages. While Shane and Patrick helped me get the site ready - I was going to be writing a billiant inaugural post.
I was going to write a brilliant post for the 4 people who know I have a blog. Trust me, it was great stuff but when I noticed I’m now up to 6 readers I felt it was time to ditch the test posts, and jump in.
Working on the actual inaugural blog post took a back seat this week to a number of things like helping line up the sponsors for the upcoming Barcamp in Montreal, raising capital for my new startup - Project Ojibwe and dealing with all the other daily joys of startup life.
My inauguarl post will someday explain the Billions with Zero Knowledge title - but for now I can say that I’ve always liked this phrase (Since I ran a company called Zero-Knowledge Systems where we often remarked that we were ‘Chasing Billions with Zero Knowledge’). I think it sums up a lot of the blogosphere, the dot.com bubble, and most of the state of world affairs today.
For my 6 readers initial readers, please remember that when this blog gets popular and I have 25 readers - you were all the original fans

Pingback from My first 90 days as a blogger » Billions With Zero Knowledge
January 22nd, 2007 at 12:09 am[...] I made my first blog post just over three months ago on October 19th 2006. I mentioned in that post, that an inaugural post was forthcoming. Well I’ll be posting it soon. I decided to experiment with the whole blogging thing for a few months before posting the original first post that I wrote. I expect I’ll edit it a bit based on my experiences these past ninety days. [...]

Hello Austin,
Welcome to the world of blogging. Thanks for commenting on my blog! And your heading of “Zero Knowledge” will always get my attention. Love to hear your take on Zero Knowledge Proofs, Systems, anything with “Zero”s in it, you name it, I read it. Mind you, it has to be well explained, which I am sure you can, I am game. My benchmark is this, like Richard Feynman, assume I am reasonable smart first year University student. (smile) By the way, I haven’t cracked open my copy of Applied Crypto for a long time now. (Note: it is a good book to impress others, so I can pretend to know a lot more than I actually do.)
I was going to sign this post with Alice, Bob, Eve, R, S, A, or simply Clifford Cocks. At the end, I decide sign with my own name. (smile) It is more fun making my own mistakes, being my own fool and having my own fun.
I am now going to read your long Dragons’ Den post which I am sure I will love even I may disagree with you totally and completely. (smile)
Cheers,
Kempton

Thanks Kempton,
It’s been awhile since I cracked my Applied Crypto as well
- and I wouldn’t want to try and explain zero knowledge proofs without touching up.
The idea for the blog came from a journal/draft book I was working on “Chasing billions with Zero Knowledge” about my experiences as an entrepreneur. This has taken a back seat to my new project, Ojibwe.
I expect the blog will evolve as I get comfortable, but for now I’ll be commenting on what I think entrepreneurs might find interesting.

Great to see you surface! We’ve been wondering what you’ve been up to; “changing the world” is a good answer.
